Eleocharis montevidensis
Eleocharis montevidensis, commonly known as giant hairgrass or Montevideo hairgrass, is a tall-growing species of hairgrass that forms a striking contrast to other smaller foreground plants. Native to South America, it is often used in aquascaping to create tall grassy areas in the midground or background of aquariums. The plant features long, thin, needle-like leaves, and can grow to impressive heights of 30–60 cm (12–24 inches) under ideal conditions, making it suitable for larger aquascapes or as a backdrop plant in medium-sized tanks.
